"Cosmos"

Beautifully illustrated, the actual photos will inspire the reader to learn about the heroes of aerospace research, technology, and exploration. This is an expensively bound oversize book that deserves a prominent place in a library, classroom, or home. I classify it t as a "treasure" that portrays our awesome universe.

Perhaps Nice for People Who Don't Read

I am only seven pages in and am already disappointed. Page two has a full 14 x 17 inch page of a star surrounded by gas. No caption. Page 4 has a note about QuercusEye app for smartphone or tablet. "It unlocks moving video footage from the images." The app doesn't exist. Across the top of page 4 and 5 a magnificent 28 inch wide photo of gases, stars, and nebulae. The caption: "panorama of intricately rippled sand" from a crater in Mars. then on page 6-7 a gorgeous photo with stars so dense the page is almost white. Where in the universe is this? No clue. There is no caption. If the rest of the book is like the first seven pages and I if you don't read and you just like to look at the pictures, then this is a nice book. For the rest of us, it's just JUNK.
