About the Author
Paul Herrick received his PhD in philosophy from the University of Washington. Since 1983 he has taught philosophy at Shoreline Community College. He is the author of two previous books published by Oxford University Press: Introduction to Logic (2012) and The Many Worlds of Logic, Second Edition (1999).

Best book you can find on the socratic method

The writer is a former philosophy instructor of mine. The love Paul Herrick has for the socratic method and Socrates in general is infectious. This book is funny and a great need in philosophy.

This book provides an excellent introduction to critical thinking

This book provides an excellent introduction to critical thinking. What the reviewer said about Herrick's views on climate change, evolution, and God are irrelevant, as these issues are not discussed in this book. For those interested see Robert Almeder's book Global Warming. He disagrees with the studies that show global warming. As for God and evolution, Alfred Wallace Russell, the co-discoverer of natural selection thought that evolution was guided by God. The notion of a trinitarian god is debated.
