"THE" book of any family!!!!!!!!!!!

This book is totally AMAZING! I am not even a home-schooling mom, but this book can be applied to ANYONE! YOU WON"T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!

Not for anyone who has a less than normal life!

I like a few books from titus2 ministries, but this is a fail. I regret wasting my money on it and because it was a few days out of their 30 day return policy, the maxwells would not let me return it, also warning me that they will examine closely the book and nickel and dime me for any imperfections. They love money. Anyway! This book sucks. I'll save you 25.00 and tell you how to set up the schedule- make a table in Microsoft word. Make enough rows to segment the day into half hour increments, and enough columns to put each persons name at the top. For each column under child A start making that child's schedule. Then, do the same thing for child b, c, etc. when you see conflicts in timing, adjust the schedule. Some activities you will all be doing together. Print the schedule and hang it up.
The big issue I have with this book is 95% of it is plugging her other materials, along with letters from women telling her how MOH is awesome. I DO NOT CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE think about MOH according to the Maxwells. Of course they aren't going to put negative feedback in their book. Why would I want to read censored reviews anyway? Why am I paying $25 to do so? When not reading glowing reviews and Teri's advertisements for other products, you'll read about scheduling. Um. Really. just tell me how to make the schedule already! So, finally at the end, most of which most people will just skip to, she tells you how to micromanage everyone's day. The only positive to this that I took home was to schedule time for things you wish you'd always do. Like sewing. A half hour is better than nothing. Or actually setting aside a half hour to spend with just one child. Setting the schedule up helps you to see that you really can get a ton accomplished daily.
The scheduling kit is bogus, who on earth would cut out hundred of tiny squares? How about stop being so cheap and include mini post its? Sheesh. I feel like I got totally ripped off and regretted not purchasing this used on eBay. The scheduling kit is not needed and this book, even with scheduling kit should be $10. Also, this schedule would be ridiculous to tend to every day. For one, what household is going to be so strict about every half hour falling into this allotted time and would you really want to be in such a home? This book is not for people who don't have cookie cutter lives. We are a military family and my husbands schedule is crazy. I also have some health problems and we are a one vehicle family at the moment, so unless you can book every appointment at a certain time each day, like your doctor will be like yes, let me move all my other appointments to fit you in....then you are doomed. Don't let the maxwells feel like you are a failure for not adhering to such a strict schedule. Jesus hardly had a schedule. One of the maxwells told me in an email "if God led you to buy this book, you can be sure he wants you to implement it (and not return it)." Um, right, it has nothing to do with your love of money. Riiiiiiiggghhhttt. lol

Great resource for ANY parent!

I did not buy this on Amazon but bought it years ago and wanted to leave a review. I love this book. I have ADD and homeschool 5 kids and the idea of this books is perfect for me. But it's like AA ... it works if you work it. Which I didn't work it. I set up all the plans and then stopped doing it. And things got chaotic. Now that my kids are ages 6-15, it's time to break this book out again and read it and do the planning again. The only problem for us is that every day is pretty different so it's hard to do a schedule. I couldn't do this system when I had nursing babies because I attachment parent and so naps/feedings depended on the kid, not a schedule, and I never put them down to sleep. Anyway ... now that they are not napping and all get up around the same time every day (staggered depending on age), I'm going to give this a shot again. I think it's a great resource for any parent!

his life story is amazing and most interesting

Very interesting rendition of the life of Joseph Smith. Before I continue, my review may be more helpful if you are aware that I am active LDS (Mormon). However, I view myself as a very independent thinker. First off, let me say that no matter your view of Joseph Smith, his life story is amazing and most interesting. And I think Fawn Brodie has done an excellent job of presentment overall. I would have given it five stars, except there were some instances where I felt she made assertions without adequate explanation and some other interesting facets that I wish she would have explored in more depth. But what is written gives a person a good basis of knowledge and makes it easy to do further study if you would be so inclined.
First off, when Fawn Brodie wrote this book, she was skewered by LDS scholars. However, at the time the LDS church would not acknowledge that Joseph Smith had more than one wife either; recently the church has acknowledged he had multiple wives. This book is not just about polygamy, it is a part of the story. But I mention this first, because it shows clearly what she wrote and the LDS church denied at the time, has now been acknowledged by the LDS church. And I suspect other of her assertions will also prove out. She included original sources in some cases that the LDS church will refute and claims she does not use sources that may be contrary to 'her view'. However, I can tell you from experience, that the LDS church really puts the 'white wash' on the history they present and deny many sources contrary to what they want to present. I personally feel Fawn Brodie was pretty fair and she did highlight when she felt a source could be suspect. She pointed out 'revelations' by Joseph Smith that did not hit the mark and were changed, removed, or not added to the Doctrine & Covenants. She used much of the LDS 'Church History' also. And it was interesting when she could show proof of statements that were either not complete in the Church History or changed - as she found the original statement. His teachings on religious ideas are amazing, but then we see how he would smear those who could not accept or disagree with him (William Law and his wife are a fine example of this - they were full of integrity). The so called 'Lies' printed in the Nauvoo Expositor, we now know were not falsehoods.
I could write much more, but the point I am trying to make in the review is that, (1) this book is very interesting and any way you cut it, Joseph Smith was an amazing man; (2) I feel it is always better to present as complete a history as possible of an individual (it lends to a truer picture), and this book certainly gives it a good go; and (3) In this book, it shows in many ways the contradictions within Joseph Smith and what appear to many 'excesses' on his part. One question, could one actually be a "Prophet of God" with the excesses he displayed in his life?

Practical Guide To Life For The Person With Many Interests And Talents

I found this book to be an entertaining and engaging practical guide to living with multiple interests and talents successfully. I've read many books on the subject that were inspiring but didn't really give me useful tools to handle an over-abundance of interests, skills and ideas when most of society is geared towards the narrow specialist.

There were immediately actionable items presented that I've already started working on and I feel like they're helping me reach my goals.

The author's enthusiasm for her subject is one of the most positive framings of this idea that I've ever seen- after reading her book I don't feel like I have to be apologetic about who I am now, I truly feel that being an enthusiastic generalist is a positive factor in my life.

And what I most enjoyed about the book was her repeated suggestions that there are more than one approach or solution to the dilemmas we face as multipotentialites. I'd read at least three books on the subject previously but this was my favorite because the other books presented blueprints for success that I felt were too narrow and fit me somewhat but not perfectly. Ms. Wapnick did an amazing job of providing practical guidance and empathy while making it clear that in real life, every person is an individual and will find a unique path.

How To Be Everything

I discovered Emilie when I watched her TED talk a couple of years ago. I think this was my first introduction to the fact that there are people like me who are not wired to specialize in one subject, and to the *why*. It is not that we are "flighty" or any of those other adjectives. We are multipotentialites, or 'scanners'. We are interested in many different subjects, often all at the same time. This knowledge, and the ideas and discussions on Emilie's website Puttylike.com, have been a source of insight and a force for change for me personally.
Emilie knows her subject very well. If you have struggled with how to deal with the pressures (internal or external) of thinking that you *have to* specialize and that this is the only way to be successful, I think you will find this book very enlightening and very useful.

After providing an ecumenical profile of the Classical Pentecostal dialogue partner, Creemers demonstrates how fair representation of the Classical Pentecostal movement has been pursued in the course of the dialogue. Next, he gives attention to the ecumenical method of the IRCCPD. First, the development of a dialogue method hinging on “hard questions” is traced, which has allowed a balanced theological exchange between the dialogue partners. Regarding theological method, it is demonstrated that both partners showed a willingness to experiment together by integrating sources of theological knowledge typically distrusted in their own traditions. In conclusion, the analyses are integrated in an overview of challenges and opportunities for dialogue with the Classical Pentecostal movement in the context of ongoing discussions on ecumenical method.

An Often Fascinating Account of a Subject Willfully Shrouded in Secrecy

This book by Avner Cohen is as good an account of Israel's nuclear arsenal as is likely to be written for a good while, and is a must-read for anyone interested in Israel's development of nuclear weapons and in its official policy of "nuclear opacity" ("amimut" in Hebrew), by which Israel neither confirms nor denies that it possesses nuclear weapons. Cohen, who has researched Israeli nuclear issues for over 25 years, is probably more knowledgeable about this subject than any person outside the circle of state actors, scientists, and bureaucrats who have had firsthand roles in Israel's nuclear program from its inception under David Ben-Gurion to its contemporary stewards such as Ehud Barak and Benjamin Netanyahu.
Cohen has interviewed many of the principal actors (several of whom have died in the meantime) over the years, as well as pursuing as much documentary evidence as is available from Israeli or foreign sources. The problem is that Israeli authorities have been remarkably effective over the last sixty years in keeping most aspects of their nuclear weapons program secret, so that Cohen has to couch his assertions of "facts" in language that makes clear he is often speculating, however highly informed these speculations may be. Nevertheless, Cohen is able to narrate the historical progression of Israel's nuclear program from Ben-Gurion's decision in the mid-1950s to develop an Israeli bomb and the vital French assistance in nuclear and ballistic missile technology in these early years, through Israel's assembly of a crude atomic device in 1966/67, Golda Meir's meeting with Richard Nixon in September of 1969 in which she (most likely) acknowledged the Israeli bomb and Nixon agreed to the mutual benefit to both nations of Israeli nuclear opacity, to today's reality of an Israel with 200-400 nuclear weapons, ICBMs with ranges up to 8,000 miles, and a fleet of four German-made submarines which theoretically provide Israel a "second-strike" capability in the event of a surprise nuclear attack upon the Jewish state.
However, Cohen's purpose in this book is not only to map the historical development of the Israeli bomb. He also contemplates the consequences for Israel's democratic society of a nuclear weapons program which is neither officially acknowledged nor denied; about which any factual published statements by Israeli citizens are forbidden on pain of imprisonment and actively censored; whose key official decisions are hidden; and whose political and military chain-of-command is nebulous at best. To me it was remarkable to read that in a democracy as vibrant as Israel's, its citizens do not have real freedom of speech regarding their nuclear weapons program, and that this prohibition is assiduously policed by three domestic intelligence/government agencies. In this regard Cohen makes clear that the majority of Israel's citizen's consider Ben-Gurion's decision to establish an Israeli nuclear weapons program the greatest achievement of this founding father of the Jewish state; that Israel's nuclear weapons are a vital insurance policy to a small nation that has been surrounded by ardent enemies since its inception; and that this continuing reality justifies an Israeli attitude of the "sanctity of security" ("kdushat habitachon" in Hebrew) that has served the Jewish state well since its founding. That the efforts of the Censora (Israel's government censorship agency) are increasingly vain in the era of the Internet is an irony not lost on Cohen. And while Cohen agrees with the necessity of Israel's nuclear deterrent, he suggests some scenarios in which Israel could lift its domestic nuclear censorship, and possibly even acknowledge its nuclear arsenal and become an official member of the international "nuclear club." To me, these sections on the social and democratic consequences of Israel's nuclear opacity and official censorship are less consistently interesting than the sections narrating the development of the Israeli bomb and could have been pared down.
David Ben-Gurion and his successors established Israel's nuclear weapons program under the guise of a nuclear energy research effort and actively and effectively duped U.S. inspections of the Dimona reactor in the Negev desert. Today Iran has taken a page from the Israeli playbook by asserting that its nuclear infrastructure is also solely for the development of a nuclear energy capacity; a right it is accorded as a member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Whether Iranian officials are being truthful is, at this point, impossible to be sure of, as their nuclear efforts are also shrouded in secrecy despite an extensive regime of international inspections.
